“Titanic” Director James Cameron Graciously Cedes Spot on All Time Box Office List to “Avengers: Endgame,” the New Number 5 on List

“Titanic” director James Cameron has graciously ceded the number 5 spot on the all time box office list to the Russo Brothers and “Avengers: Endgame.” He may have to do it again if “Endgame” eclipses “Avatar,” but that won’t be for some time.

Still, the meteoric box office conquest that is “Endgame” will cross the $659 million domestic line tonight, surpassing “Titanic.” The latter movie was so huge back in 1997 that it eclipsed everything in its path. If it were released today, who knows? It might do even better.

Cameron was King of the World for a short time, winning all those Oscars and cementing careers for Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Cameron addressed his congrats not to the directors of the movie, but to Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios.
