“American Idol” Thursday: A Whimper, Fourth for the Night, Getting Rid of Angie Miller

Share

And so “American Idol” as we’ve known it ended a tumultuous week with a whimper, not a bang. The Thursday show finished fourth for the night, with a 2.8 in the key demo. Angie Miller, who will probably have a big career, was eliminated from the show. Randy Jackson announced his exit. And still, with all that drama, the show failed to attract more of an audience. It was beaten by “Modern Family,” “Big Bang Theory,” and “Person of Interest.” This was after a narrow victory the night before over “The Voice.” Angie Miller is young, and she’s got a great start. I hope she gets a great record contract and some promotional push. And a good manager.
