Toldya: Woody Allen’s “Blue Jasmine” Blossoms to Widest Release Ever

Share

Yes, I told you last week that Woody Allen’s “Blue Jasmine” would expand to over 1,000 theaters. Sony confirmed it yesterday. The Cate Blanchett hit will move into 1,200 locations tomorrow. That’s Woody’s widest release ever- more even than “Midnight in Paris.” The dramedy will also cross the $10,000,000 line shortly as well. “Blue Jasmine” is headed to the Oscars and other awards groups in categories of Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, Actress (Blanchett), Supporting Actress (Sally Hawkins) and Supporting Actor (Bobby Cannavale). Woody is currently shooting his next movie in the South of France with Colin Firth and an all star cast. He also co-stars with John Turturro in the latter’s “Fading Gigolo,” coming soon. And Allen has a musical version of “Bullets Over Broadway” coming to actual Broadway this winter.
