The West Coast is a *different* world if anything. I qualify to make this remark because I’ve been to the East several times and NYC (which I do love) at least a dozen times alone, the last time being as recent as last year. All of the boroughs, even. L.A. is HUGE. Not everything should be judged by its Hollywood ‘plasticity’…there’s plenty “real” there too…and in San Francisco, for that matter. (ie. the world doesn’t necessarily revolve around NY to qualify it as being “real” ass is the habit of NYers’ way of tending to think).
