I hope that Randy makes the decision to leave. I personally have been disappointed in his continued association with the show. As a professional bassist of 26+ years, I’ve always felt that this show does a HUGE disservice to music in general. Here’s why: It elevates a singer above the rest of the band, and in doing so has created a diva mentality throughout the musical community, that has made it even more impossible to deal with singers. As a whole, it can safely be said that singers are egotistical; this (Idol) only amplifies that problem in the same way that alcohol fuels ill-conceived bravery.
Randy…please leave, and pick up the bass again; that’s where your true talent, and might I hazard a guess, love, lay.
